The former Nusco Tower

Globalworth Plaza is at 42 Șoseaua Pipera, in Sector 2, in the office area between Barbu Văcărescu and Pipera. Before getting its current name, the building was called Nusco Tower, according to Wikipedia’s list of tall buildings in Bucharest.

The building’s official fact sheet gives 2010 as the year of completion. The 2012 press counts Nusco Tower among the four office buildings finished on Barbu Văcărescu in the previous three years, alongside Euro Tower, The Lakeview and Floreasca Business Park.

How it came to Globalworth

Globalworth bought the building for 46 million euros, according to the business press. The sources do not agree on the timing: one account mentions December 2014, another the first half of 2015, so the page does not state a date.

Technical data

The official Globalworth page gives approximately 24,000 square meters of leasable office space and 336 parking spaces. According to Wikipedia, the building has 20 floors, and the press at the time of the acquisition also spoke of 20 floors above ground. In 2012, the press gave 20,000 leasable square meters for Nusco Tower, an older figure, while at the time of the acquisition the figure was approximately 23,000 square meters.

The building was fully renovated in 2017, and after the renovation it received BREEAM Excellent certification, according to Globalworth. BREEAM is a British system that rates buildings by environmental performance, and Excellent is the second-highest level on the scale.
