Liceul Tehnologic „Constantin Brâncuși” (a technological high school) is at Bulevardul Profesor Dimitrie Pompeiu no. 1, in Sector 2. According to the history page on the school’s website, the unit was founded in 1948–1949 as a “Școală de ucenici” (apprentice school). It then became, in turn, a vocational school for carpenters, a vocational school for finished wood products and a Grup Școlar Forestier (a forestry school group).

The “Pipera” name and the current name

In 1973, the website says, the school moved into its current premises, under the name Grup Școlar de Industrializare a Lemnului „Pipera” (a wood industry school group). Today’s name, Liceul Tehnologic „Constantin Brâncuși,” dates from the 2013–2014 school year. The Învățământ Sector 2 portal repeats the same dates.

What is studied

The school’s website says the unit has a technological high school and a post-secondary school. After 1990 the following specializations were added: furniture design and interior design technician, ecology and environmental quality protection technician, and tourism technician. The Învățământ Sector 2 portal groups the offer by profile: technical (woodworking, furniture design), natural resources and environmental protection, and services (tourism and food service, economics, trade).

In 2023 and 2024, according to the website, new specializations in tourism and economics were authorized or accredited, through orders of the Minister of Education. Order no. 6072 of August 19, 2024 also mentions primary and middle school education. In the 2025–2026 school year, the school says it set up a preparatory grade (clasa pregătitoare) and a grade 5 class with intensive English.

Modernization

Rehabilitation and modernization works, funded by the Sector 2 City Hall, began in June 2022, according to the school’s website.
